Amador Valley has a highly successful jazz program consisting of two ensembles that meet during the school day: Jazz "A" and Jazz "B". Both bands have full jazz instrumentation and consistently earn high honors and awards for their musicianship and skill. In addition, members participate regularly in local, regional and national honors jazz ensembles. The Campana Jazz Festival is held each year at Amador and is a cornerstone of the entire music program. It has been in existence for 31 years and is named in honor of Jim Campana, retired director of Amador bands.
