October 5 Homecoming
October 6 NO PRACTICE October 12 Band photos: individual shots at 3:30, group shot at 4:30 October 19 MB Rehearsal (Friday 3:30-6:30) October 20 Gilroy competition (itinerary TBA)
Note on the PSAT and 10/20: The PSAT held on Amador's campus is scheduled to end at approximately 11:30 a.m. Our practice will begin on that day no earlier than 11:00. At most those taking the test will miss about 30 minutes of warm-up and marching basics. There is in no way a conflict with the performance that evening or most of rehearsal that afternoon. No pre-excuse forms are required for this absence.
*** Truck Drivers Still Needed Steve Ethier
Many thanks to those of you who have volunteered to drive our lazy band equipment to and from the competitions. I still have open driver shifts as listed below:
10/20 Gilroy: Second driver needed for 15 foot truck, to and from Gilroy.
10/17 SJSU: Second driver needed for 15 foot truck, to and from SJSU.
11/9,10,11 BOA: Second driver needed for 24 foot truck, to and from LA. Primary and secondary drivers (i.e., two drivers) needed for 15 foot truck, to and from LA.
11/16,17,18,19 Championships: Primary and secondary drivers needed for 15 foot truck, to and from LA.
Please contact me at slethier_908@yahoo.com if you can help drive these trucks. These positions have to be filled, the band cannot complete without its equipment.
*** Band Photo Date Changed Jon Grantham
The band photo date has been changed to Friday, October 12. Individual photos start at 3:30 with the group shot in the stadium (yes, stadium) at 4:30 (we don't fit on the risers anymore!) *** GET THOSE MED FORMS IN! Nancy McGhee (The Medicine Ma'am)
Many of you bought medications from us, but have yet to turn in the physician-signed medication consent forms. Deadline is September 30!
Remember, RAs cannot give out any medication without a signed form on file for your child. You can download the form from the BAND website (not the school website). Include on the form the dosages for Advil, Tylenol, Pepto-Bismol and any other medication you want to have available for your child. Have your student put the form in the AFM box in the band room or mail it to AFM PO BOX 602 Pleasanton 94566.
Also, if your child carries an inhaler, epipen or insulin please let the Medicine Ma'am know. Contact her at nancymcghee@comcast.net.
