***** Change in PUSD Prescripton and OTC Medication Authorization Requirements Trish Moosbrugger
PUSD requirements for authorizing distribution of Prescription and Over-The-Counter Medications have changed since last marching season.
Specifically, students are NOT permitted to carry ANY over the counter medications, such as Advil or Tylenol. Students must have signed physician's permission to have access to these OTC medications on band trips, and the medications must be held for the student by adult chaperones (RA's). More information for parents, as well as links to new forms, will follow in upcoming newsletters.
With the approval and support of Mr. Grantham and the AFM Board, the RAs are working hard to make compliance with district policy VERY convenient for band parents....just visit the Health Information Table at Band Registration for your "one stop solution" to complying with these district policies during Band trips. Many thanks in advance to parents for your full cooperation in ensuring that each and every band student's health needs can be met by RAs on those long road trips. As always, please contact Trish Moosbrugger, Head RA, with any specific concerns you may have about managing your child's medication or health needs on band trips. pmoosbrugger@comcast.net Scottish Highland Games Volunteer Opportunities Richard Grotegut

Dear Parents and Marching Band Students,
A complete uniform will need to be assembled and inspected prior to performing at the first football game on Friday, September 7th. A full band inspection will take place that evening to confirm a complete and proper fitting uniform. Uniform fittings are to be held on Thursday, August 16th from 1 pm - 6 pm and Saturday, August 18th from 10 am - 4 pm.
Each student will be responsible for their own uniform for the entire marching season. They need to be stored safely at home and worn/transported to and from each event as specified by Mr. Grantham. This policy is explained in the "Marching Band Student Information Letter 2007-2008" which was distributed with your uniform. This is a recent policy change which requires a large degree of responsibility by each student. Missing or damaged pieces will be charged directly to the student's account.
Directly following your uniform fitting appointment, your pants will need to either be hemmed by hand at home or sent to a qualified seamstress or drycleaner for hemming. A list of qualified vendors is included with your contract. Uniform pants are NEVER to be cut for ANY REASON!
A shoe order will be placed for all incoming freshmen as well as students who need replacement shoes. A fee of $30.00 will be charged the student account at that time.
The uniform contract will need to be signed and returned to Mr. Grantham's office no later than Friday, October 19th or turned in at inspection.
If you should have any questions or comments about this process, or should require additional information, please contact Kimberly Ansell, Uniform Coordinator at KimberlyAnsell@comcast.netor 925-484-2847.
