| AFM Newsletter Copies of the AFM Newsletter mailings just in case you've misplaced yours. May 30,2007 Next Year's Budget and Fees Thom Kato
piggy bank A budget and fees for next year were presented by the AFM Board and approved by membership at the May general meeting.
The Marching Band expenses and fees are well established; the second semester programs and fees are our best estimates at this time and will be adjusted as we get closer the second semester.
The Marching Band fee is $775, the same as last year. The AFM Board worked hard to maintain Marching Band fees at the same level, even though the next season will consist of two overnight trips to southern California (see the AFM calendar for details). The fees cover operating expenses including transportation, lodging, senior dinner at Championships, and some snacks (alright, a lot of snacks...have band kids ever gone hungry on a trip???). Students will be responsible for other meals.
Preliminary fees for second semester programs are ...
Concert Band -- $90 Jazz Band -- $50 Winter Guard -- $925 Winter Percussion -- $790
Regarding AFM finances overall, the investment accounts were funded from Magic of Music proceeds and we are on our way to saving for new uniforms, instruments, and other major capital investments. For details on the budget or AFM finances, please contact me, Pam, or Paulette.
New AFM Board Officers Thom Kato
ballot boxPlease join me in welcoming and congratulating next year's AFM Board of Directors! Next year's officers are:
President -- Pam Sangiacomo VP Fundraising -- Dianne Jones VP Transportation and Logistics -- Jason Briggs Treasurer -- Paulette Callahan Secretary -- Linda Ethier
It is truly wonderful that the Board is comprised of four returning members and a new VP of Transportation and Logistics (but a veteran Road Warrior!). Trish Moosbrugger served as our nominations coordinator and presented the nominees at the May General Meeting, who were voted in unanimously! It has been an honor to serve on the AFM Board with a talented and dedicated group of parents, and I am so pleased and appreciative of the returning and new members.
In related news, with Pam as our new President, we need to find someone to take over Student Accounts. Experience with Quickbooks is really helpful. Whoever takes over this important task will have Pam as a resource. It is a time commitment, but a function that keeps the wheels turning for AFM.
Trish Moosbrugger will be staying on as the Head Responsible Adult. She's done a fantastic job this year and has plans to make next year even better!
Steve Ethier has agreed to be next year's Head Road Warrior, and we all couldn't be luckier. This does mean that we need to find drivers to pull the trailers next year. So if you have some trailer pullin' experience, please contact Steve. Updated: May 30, 2007 |
