Many thanks to all attended and supported the Spring Collage, Opus II on Monday evening. It was a wonderful celebration of all of the great talented kids we have in our music program. Special thanks to band parent Victoria Schmidt for helping as house manager and Amador staff Mark Aubel (choir/orchestra) and Kristina Cramer (Video Production) for assisting with supervision at the concert!
Spring awards banquet to actually have food! With many thanks to Roland Ellingsen and the great folks at Girasole, the band family will be able to come together for fun and fellowship on the Amador quad (in front of the Multi-purpose room) and enjoy a delicious meal at the banquet on Monday, June 11 with dinner served at 6 and the awards beginning at 7. Read below for more details! Each student is recognized at the awards and it is a serious and special commemoration of our year. Please plan on attending.
Spring Awards Banquet! Linda Ethier
celebrationAs Mr. Grantham stated above, the Spring Awards Banquet will be held on Monday, June 11th; dinner being served at 6:00 and the awards beginning at 7:00. The banquet is being catered by Girasole and will have a cost of $5.00 per band student and $10.00 for any other family members and friends who would like to join us!
Please send your money to the band room in an envelope marked with the student's name and number of band students/others. The envelope can be put into the "Musical Notes" box on the band room wall. Thank you, and see you all at the Awards Banquet!
Volunteers Still Needed for Spring Awards Dinner! Paulette Callahan
volunteers needed Thanks to Nancy McGhee, Chris Peterson and Linda Davidian who have graciously offered their support with the upcoming Spring Awards Banquet but with the addition of dinner being served at the awards, we need at least 10 more volunteers to serve food and cleanup. Parent volunteers interested in helping out should contact me at pcallaha@ebmud.com or at 846-8957. Volunteers will report to the area outside the MP room at 5:30pm and will be needed until 7:00pm. Girasole will be setting up the food and coffee. All we need to do is serve, clean up and return the chafing dishes after the event. This event promises to be great fun! Remember, many hands make light work and I hope to hear from many of you! Marching Band DVD Sales a Success! Steve Ethier
dvd image Thank you to all the band families who purchased one or more copies of the Marching Band DVD.
While providing you with a keepsake of the 2005 and 2006 seasons, the sale of the DVD was also a small fundraiser for the band. All proceeds above the cost of duplicating the DVDs has been given to the band. With rising fuel costs, these proceeds should be enough to cover the fuel costs of getting the buses out of the Amador parking lot for one competition next fall. Ha! Just kidding. We actually have enough to get the buses to the freeway. Seriously though, the proceeds will be directed to purchasing capital equipment for the band. Thank you again for your generosity.
