The word is out! The Pleasanton Hilton is the place to be on March 31st.
We have sold 185 tickets and are close to reaching our goal of 200. Tickets are selling quickly so make sure to send in those ticket order forms or contact Paulette Callahan at 846-8957. As Marily Palowitch said so eloquently in an appeal to Jazz parents: "When was the last time you danced? We all spend a lot of time helping our kids in their events, and they sure do have fun. Now its our turn, to spend an evening together as adults and have our own fun- being wined (or martini'd as the case may be), dined and dancing the night away." Come join us in another fun evening of celebration and support of the fabulous Band program at Amador. Thank you to all of the businesses, parents and students for all of the wonderful donations. We will have approximately 190 items available! Want to learn how to hang glide? Need a new shiny red electric guitar? How about a Hot Air Balloon Ride over Napa? Need a state of the art computer with all the latest programs? Or a vacation? Enjoy the "Good Life" in a Carmel Mansion! How about a fabulous diamond heart pendant? Maybe you just need a night out on the town with a dinner at Haps, Pastas, Blue Agave, Cheesecake Factory, or the Pleasanton Hotel - the list goes on and on. Maybe your a sports fan and would like tickets to the 49ers, the A's , Sharks or a golfing adventure with 3 of your friends. If you need it (or want it) we have it! Don't miss out on this chance to help the Band while bidding on an assortment of high quality items! Although we are maxed out with Donations, we are still in need for wine for the wine toss. Please contact Nancy Jones for donations 485-3532 or just drop off a bottle or two at my house, 2824 Foothill Oaks Terrace. A quick thank you to those who have put days, weeks and months into the execution and planning of this event. It has truly been a pleasure working with you! I look forward to seeing you all at the Hilton on March 31st. where we will celebrate our wonderful muscians in the company of fantastic friends, delicious food and amazing auction items.

Enterprise High School, in the state of Alabama, was recently devasted by the loss of life (including two band students) and property during a tornado several weeks ago. The band room was badly damaged and a number of instruments were destroyed (a lot of percussion equipment). None of us knows when tragedy may strike and in a time when we are celebrating our successes and health in the Amador band I hope we can come together and give to a program that is recovering from a disaster that will no doubt be with those students for the rest of their lives.
The band council and the band members will be taking up a collection and sending a note of sympathy to the Enterprise band students. Any AFM family that would like to make a contribution can send cash or check (made out to Enterprise High School band) in with their student and your family's name will be added to the card. I would like to send this out at the beginning of spring break. Thanks for your consideration and generous donation to the Enterprise band family.
