Dear Parents,

This week volunteers have contacted you regarding any donations you can make to the Magic of Music Fundraiser Event. If we were unable to make that contact with you for whatever reason and you have a wonderful donation that you would like to make, please contact Janice Maurer at (925) 485-9874. Janice will take your information over the phone and arrange for a pick up of that donation.

MAGIC OF MUSIC - Donations
Please take a moment to consider the following ideas on types of donations:

1. TALENT OR SERVICE: These are always the most popular items. Do you have a special dinner you prepare? Are you handy with tools or paint? Are you a computer wizard or some type of instructor?

2. TICKETS OR VACATION HOMES: These are also very popular. Do you have a vacation home or boat that you would let someone have for a weekend? How about
season tickets to sporting events, plays, or the symphony? Would you be able to donate tickets for one of the events? Frequent flier miles could also be donated.

3. GOLF: There must be several serious golfers among us. Do you belong to a country club or have a favorite course that might donate a round?

4. SOLICITING FROM A FRIEND OR BUSINESS: Do you have a neighbor, friend or relative that owns a business? It never hurts to ask for a donation. They can always
say no. Do you have a special restaurant, hair salon, nail salon or other business you frequent? Businesses often will give a donation to a valued customer. Don't forget about your employer as a possible donor.

5. PURCHASE A GIFTCARD: For some, purchasing a giftcard or certificate is a more comfortable method of obtaining a donation. However, consider purchasing the gift card through the AFM scrip program. Not only will you get an item to donate, but you will also make a contribution to your student's account.

6. WINE: Are you a collector that would like to share a special find? How about those bottles that dinner guests bring that may not be your favorites? Do you enjoy shopping for a cheap find?

Hopefully these suggestions will help you think of the best way possible for you to make a donation to the Magic of Music. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Magic of Music Volunteers Still Needed.
Thom Kato

We are still looking for a few more adult volunteers. Especially needed is someone to lead the "After Party Crew" (formerly known as the Tear Down Crew). Anyone interested in leading the tear down party please contact me. We could also use some help during the live auction. And there are other fun jobs too. So give me a call (925) 548-1634 or drop me an email at thom.kato@comcast.net! Thanks, Thom
