Wind Ensemble parents-HELP! The Wind Ensemble is performing at the CBDA State Convention on Saturday 2/17. This is an early a.m. departure with an early evening arrival time. As I will be in Fresno chaperoning the Amador students who are participating in the All-State Honors Bands I am in need of 4 chaperones to ride down and back with the kids (one bus of 50 students). If there are any district employees among you this would be a HUGE help to me and would save me 3 round trips to Fresno. Please contact me immediately at jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us if you can help. Chaperoning the Wind Ensemble is a very easy and low-key "gig." Thanks!

Congratulations and thanks! To all of the parent and student volunteers for putting on a tremendous winterguard show this past Saturday on the Amador campus. The show was a huge success and the hundreds of hours of volunteer time made it all possible. Special thanks to guard parents Ginnelle Dowdy and Chris Smith for organizing and heading the show for the third year in a row!

Volunteer work shift reminders: Many band students helped out at the winterguard show and many are signed up to work at the Campana Jazz Festival on 2/10. A reminder that each band student is required to work 2 short volunteer shifts at any of the remaining events: Campana (2/10) or Magic of Music (3/31)

Magic of Music mandatory STUDENT meeting will be held after school until 3:45 on Tuesday February 20. This is a short meeting designed to get the students involved in the donation process of items for the auction. Students are asked to work alone or in small groups to donate services or goods for the Magic of Music auction. Athletes are excused from this meeting.

Band office needs supplies! If you are able to donate office supplies for the band office, please send them in with your child. Items needed include: paper, pens, pencils, a stapler, staples, paper clips, and dry-erase markers. The office is all set for post-its! Thanks in advance for helping to keep the office stocked and organized!

52 Days!

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”.

Local and regional businesses have proven their support for the Band Program at Amador by providing an amazing array of Donations to be included in our Live and Silent auctions. Their incredible generosity, along with the dedication of band and color guard members, parents, staff and friends will help us raise much-needed funds at our annual Magic of Music Fundraiser.

The Community has shown its support, now I am asking for yours.

In the next few days, you will be receiving a Magic of Music packet in the mail. Included in the packet are forms, which provide you the opportunity to buy tickets, make donations, and purchase or sell advertising. Also enclosed is a formal invitation, which you may choose to keep or mail out to special friends, business associates or family members. If you need extra invitations please contact me and I will make sure to get some to you. Extra Ticket Order Forms, Ad Forms, and Donation Forms may also be printed off of the Amador Band Website by clicking “Magic of Music”

Winter Guard Show Thanks!
Ginnelle Dowdy

Chris Smith and I would like to thank each and every one of you who helped make this year’s color guard show so successful. Your help with leading committees, baking potatoes or baked goods, making soup, or volunteering your time to make this show run so smoothly was greatly appreciated. We worked like a well oiled wheel. The show ran like clock work, the judges loved the food and the team performed in their new uniforms looking magnificent. I won’t even mention the huge jump in scoring.

Thanks to all. Jill Zollinger is taking over as Chairperson for next year with Chris and me coaching from the sidelines. Anyone care to partner with her? Two make a great team.

Again thank you all for everything. See you at the guard shows.
