Countdown to Campana
Carl and Marilyn Palowitch

10- 9- 8- Do you hear that ticking sound? I can tell you, we do! The next ten days will be filled with the final preparations for the 32nd Annual Campana Jazz Festival. Thank you to everyone who has already jumped in to help us with the Festival.

NEEDED: AFM Parents who DO NOT have a student in a jazz band. Would you please volunteer for about 1 hour on the day of the festival, to relieve a Jazz Parent in order for that parent to attend the performance of his/her student’s band? Times we need you: 8:50-10 am; 1:40 – 2:50 pm; and 3:40 pm to 4:50 pm. To volunteer, please send an email to our Volunteer Coordinator (below) with a Subject Line: Campana Relief Volunteer. State one of the times above during which you would be willing to sub for a Jazz Parent. And thank you very much for your consideration!

JAZZ BAND PARENTS: This is what it’s all about - great Jazz education in our own backyard! We’re hoping for 100% participation of all of our Jazz families in the volunteer ranks at Campana. Please sign-up for a 1/2 day shift, or if you like to party, make it a whole day! We sure do need you. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator (below).

JUST WANT TO HELP? It doesn’t matter if you are a Jazz Parent or not, we hope everyone in AFM wants to be a part of the Campana Festival. It’s easy to get involved. Just let our Volunteer Coordinators know you’d like to help and they’ll take it from there.

EMAIL THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS: They are Andrea Holmquist and Betsy Pickert, and they’ve been doing a wonderful job filling in the volunteer positions. Many of you have made it easy thus far by coming forward on your own. Soon, Andrea and Betsy will have to start making calls to fill-in positions. Won’t you please save them some time and contact them first?? Andrea is aholmquist@comcast.net and Betsy is bkpickert@comcast.net .

Winter Guard News
Mari Terhune

Congratulations Guard on a great performance at Live Oak, resulting in an 11 point score increase!

This week is the Amador Winter Guard Show and We Need You! This year we're feeding approx. 50 people and still need six or seven pots of soup (we already have a couple chili's and a stew).

Or, are you available to pick up and prepare salad fixings or garlic bread? The bread will need to be heated up at home and then brought to school around 6:00.

Soup/Chili preparers, please make sure the soups are "ready to eat" in a crock-pot on the day of the show by 6:00 p.m.

Please contact Jennifer Silva at zsilvaware@aol.com if you can help out in any way.

A big note of thanks to Mr. Thiel for towing the guard trailer and equipment for us, and to Kathleen Nohr for RAing the event!
Our website needs a facelift!

AFM is looking for someone who would like to revamp the band website and bring it into the 21st century! If you think you might be interested, please contact Linda Ethier at slethier@pacbell.net for more information
