Director's Report
Jon Grantham

House manager for theater is needed!
A parent is needed to help supervise 3-5 other parent volunteers for our concerts at the Amador theater. Many of you already attend these events to support your kids and it would be great to have an organized, energetic coordinator to help ushers at our concerts. The responsibilities are minimal and you are able to see the concert in it's entirety. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Grantham at jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us . Your help is appreciated and needed!

AMADOR BAND AND GUARD SHINES IN L.A. AT BANDS OF AMERICA REGIONAL! "...and our 10th and final band performing in tonight's regional championships is...AMADOR VALLEY!"

In a moment no one in our band family will forget anytime soon, being announced (in random order) as the last finalist for our first BOA regional was a moment to savor. Thunderous applause erupted from the students, staff and I think even the teacher (ahem...) After a shaky run in prelims earlier in the afternoon the band and colorguard turned in a focused and energetic performance, earning a standing ovation in finals.

Turning in an outstanding performance in a very competitive regional event, the first at this level in band history, the band moved up 2 slots and raised their score 3 points from prelims to finals. It was a weekend to remember! Thank you to all the Amador fans who made the trip to show the dedication and love we have for the kids. It was a fine display of "AMADOR PRIDE!"

See you at James Logan on Saturday!

Practice Rescheduled for Wednesday!
Jon Grantham

Due to the athletic facility being triple booked for soccer, football and band, rehearsal for TUESDAY NOVEMBER 7, has been cancelled.

Rehearsal has been rescheduled for WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 8 from 5-9 so that we have a rehearsal in the stadium prior to the Foothill game and the Logan show.

I understand this may present scheduling challenges for families. Thank you for your patience and flexibility in handling this change. If your child does have a conflict for a part of the rehearsal, please e-mail Mr. Grantham at jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us immediately.

Thank you for your support of our great band and colorguard!

Fresno is coming up and new taste treats await us!!! The company that has transported our darling children is treating them all to Pizza on Saturday evening when they get there. We are going to order extra pizza to feed the adults and charge $5 to offset the cost. Make sure you thank our wonderful bus drivers when you see them. I am sure it will be special pizza to make the kids perform their best that night.... and sleep very soundly!!!

Sunday at lunch we will also feed the kids. We are trying to put together a Mexican fiesta. It is also the senior dinner with all the gala. There will again be plenty of food for adults so please plan to join us. This dinner will be on AFM so come and eat hearty!!

Thank you to the Road Warrior crew for helping with the loading of the trailer on Thursday evening.

Thank you to Roland Portman for coming out of AVHS band family retirement at 9PM Thursday to help us rework the trailer's wiring adapter to work with the style of connector on this particular rental truck.

Thank you to John McWilliams for helping us on Saturday afternoon diagnose a short circuit problem in the truck's trailer wiring connector.

Thank you to John McWilliams, Paul Perazzo, Adolf Miranda, and Adolf's son Richie for helping Paul and Steve unload the trailer when we returned to Pleasanton on Sunday evening.

Thank you once again to Big O Tires in Pleasanton for their servicing of the trailer last year before the Long Beach trip since the trailer was subjected to a safety inspection this year by the CHP at the weight scale in Castaic, the trailer passed the inspection without a problem.
