Director's Report I hope this note finds all rested and doing well!
My summer plans have taken me to Stockton (woo-hoo!), Washington D.C., North Carolina, Chicago and back home to mom and dad. I am looking forward to another great year!
Lots of information will be coming your way soon regarding dates and times for the fall. All calendar information is on the web site at www.amadorband.org.
With the hot weather here, it is likely that we will be enjoying a warm camp as well. Some things to think about in advance include engaging in some physical activity before camp (even walking will work) so the long days are less of a shock to your student's body.
Also consider purchasing a camel back (a back pack-like item which stores water so the student can hydrate themselves whenever needed during practice), hat and sunglasses if those items aren't already purchased!
A reminder that for all wind players that The Yard and Riot (the first twomovements of the field show) must be memorized before camp.
Finally, a home has been selected for the October 28th Bands of America (BOA) regional. The Amador band and guard will be performing in the L.A.Coliseum! For more information on BOA, check out the website at www.bands.org
Have a safe and restful remainder of the summer and looking forward to seeing all of you at camp in August!

A complete uniform will need to be assembled and inspected prior to performing at the first football game on Friday, September 15th. A full band inspection will take place that evening to confirm a complete and proper fitting uniform. Uniform fittings are to be held on Wednesday, August 16th from 4-7:30 pm and Thursday, August 17th from 5-8. pm. This is conveniently following Section Leader Training and Freshmen Band Camp.
Each student will be responsible for their own uniform for the entire marching season. They need to be stored safely at home and worn/transported to and from each event as specified by Mr. Grantham. This policy is explained in the “Marching Band Student Information Letter 2005-2006” which was distributed with your registration packet. This is a recent policy change which requires a large degree of responsibility by each student. Missing or damaged pieces will be charged directly to the student’s account.
Directly following your uniform fitting appointment, your pants will need to either be hemmed by hand at home or sent to a qualified seamstress or drycleaner for hemming. A list of qualified vendors is included with your contract. Uniform pants are NEVER to be cut for ANY REASON!
A shoe order will be placed for all incoming freshmen as well as students who need replacement shoes. A fee of $30.00 will be charged the student account at that time.
The uniform contract will need to be signed and returned to Mr. Grantham’s office no later than Friday, September 15th or turned in at inspection.
If you should have any questions or comments about this process, or should require additional information, please contact Kimberly Ansell at KimberlyAnsell@comcast.net or 925-484-2847.

Thanks so much, Dianne Request for Volunteers - Uniform Fitting Kimberly Ansell
Volunteers are needed to help fit students for their Marching Band uniforms. A complete uniform will need to be assembled prior to performing at the first football game on Friday, September 15. A full band inspection will take place that evening to confirm a complete and proper fitting uniform. Uniform fittings are to be held on Wednesday, August 16th from 4-7:30 pm and Thursday, August 17th from 5-8 pm.
The schedule for fittings is as follows:
Wednesday, August 16th
* 4:00-5:00 pm - Section Leaders and Seniors * 5:00-6:30 pm - Juniors * 6:30-7:30 pm - Sophomores
Thursday, August 17th
* 5:00-6:00 pm - Freshmen with last names A-G * 6:00-7:00 pm - Freshmen with last names H-R * 7:00-8:00 pm - Freshment with last names S-Z
The process is easy- just fit each student with a jacket, a pair of bib overalls, the proper size shoe, ensure the student drops by the “pinning station” to mark the hem in the pants, fit them with a shako, collect a pair of gloves (if necessary), gauntlets, and fill-in the contract. Voila!
Please contact Kimberly Ansell at KimberlyAnsell@comcast.net or 925-484-2847 if you are available to help.
