Director’s Report – Jon Grantham

2006-2007 schedule available!

If you haven't noticed yet, all band dates for the 2006-2007 school year are now posted.
Please note that with the implementation of late-start Wednesdays, marching practices are on Tuesday this coming year. This will allow our busy band students to sleep in on Wednesday after a long day of school and band.

WBA championships information!

An important note - WBA championships are a two-day competition format for next fall.

This was a decision recently passed by the WBA executive board which means preliminary
competition will be on Saturday evening and finals will be on Sunday afternoon.

Please take a close look at your holiday travel plans to make sure that your band student will be present for both prelims and finals.

On the heels of our 11th place finish in finals last year we are poised to make big strides this next season and having everyone on the field for finals is the goal. The band for next year is now numbering almost 210 people!

Spring concerts upcoming!

May 22nd is the choir/orchestra/Jazz A spring concert. On May 23rd the concert bands
and Jazz B will be performing their final concert of the season. It is shaping up to be a
memorable and musical performance not to be missed. The concert is being programmed
like a musical collage so that there will be little to no break in the music. As always there is no admission, family and friends welcome! If you are able to usher for the concert please email Mr. Grantham! jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us
