Magic of Music Volunteers Instructions

Trish Moosbrugger

Thanks so much to all of you who have volunteered for the Magic of Music on Saturday, April 26. We are now in the final stages of instructions to volunteers, so check your email frequently. Team leaders should have all received an email from me yesterday with some details, and a notice of the walk-through to be held at the Pleasanton Hilton on Sun, April 20 from 4-5pm. Please RSVP to me for the walk-through. pmoosbrugger@comcast.net

A few more helping hands needed:

Please - have mercy on the planning team. We can't bear to see Dianne Jones carrying centerpieces to storage as her last act of service to our organization!!!! I need just a couple more adults to work along with Hallie Wake and Joan Laursen and the student volunteers, at the end of the evening. If many of you chip in, we know it will just take a few minutes:

*Need 2-3 adults to take down the light weight, hollow columns and move them to the room we're using for storage at the Hilton.

*Need 2-3 adults to help move table decorations to the room we're using for storage at the Hilton.

*Need 2 adults to supervise students loading equipment into the band trailer in the parking lot.

*Need 4-6 parents with vans or suv's on Sunday morning at 10am to take one carload of decorations back to Dianne's house.

Let me know you're willing to help for just a few minutes (I promise) at the end of the party. pmoosbrugger@comcast.net

Jon Grantham

A few drivers are still needed for the Jazz Festival on Friday.

We are close to set on drivers for the jazz band performances at CSUEB on Friday afternoon,
but both groups are in need of one more driver yet. Please e-mail Mr. Grantham at jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us if you can help. Thank you!

Magic of Music right around the corner!
The band's main fundraiser is fast approaching. The 4th annual Magic of Music is scheduled for April 26th. Our band students have benefited
greatly from the success of this event for the past 3 years. We have been able to acquire new instruments (marching, concert and percussion!),
replace outdated equipment (the golf cart was on it's last legs after East L.A. College), and save for the purchase of new uniforms.

In addition to these purchases, we hope to cover the costs of airport transportation and packing for our London trip in December. It is important that each family make an effort to contribute in some way to this event. Due to the success of Magic of Music, we have been able to reduce student fees by approximately $200! But more importantly, you will experience an evening of great entertainment provided by Amador students (dinner and dancing to the sounds of our award winning jazz bands!) Please consider attending the Magic of Music as a way to contribute to this phenomenal music program. Further information is located on the band website or contact Paulette Callahan at 846-8957.

CMEA Band Festival fast approaching-
CMEA (California Music Educator's Association) sponsors a judged concert band festival that is the highlight of our concert band season. This festival, held at CSU East Bay in Hayward, is the culmination of many weeks of hard work. Attendance by all band members is mandatory and parents are asked to arrange for transportation. This is a free event to watch; parents and families are welcome to enjoy the performances. Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble I are on Friday April 25. Wind Ensemble II is on Saturday April 26. Please see times below for each group:
