Amador Valley has again been invited at the request of the Lord Mayor of London to be a participant in the 2008 London New Year's Day Parade. This is a tentative trip based on school board and administrative approval, but in order for you to have as much information as early as possible, there will be an informational meeting on THURSDAY January 17 at 7:00 pm in the AVHS Band Room. At this time preliminary information on passports/schedule/cost/payments/known logistics can be discussed. This trip is TENTATIVELY scheduled to take place from December 27, 2008-January 3, 2009.

*** The Campana Jazz Festival is just over 4 weeks away!
We are pleased to announce 44 ensembles, from 24 schools, and over 700 students will be participating in this 33rd year of the festival! Please plan to join us, either as a volunteer or music lover. Come, see and hear (!) what a great tradition has been built here at Amador Valley High School. Mark your calendars for February 9, 2008. The first downbeat is at 8:00 am and music continues throughout the day until the final awards concerts. Performance venues are the Amador Theater, the Band Room and the Choir Room. If you are attending, a $6 wristband admits you to all of the Performance Venues and the Awards Concerts. If you are volunteering, admission is free! CAMPANA JOB OF THE WEEK: Drivers needed! Do you have a van, SUV, or truck? Please help us on Friday, February 8, to pickup and deliver loaned equipment from other PUSD schools and Ingram and Brauns Musik Shoppe. You will be given a pickup location, a list of items, a drop-off location, and a person at either end to meet and assist you. We will work to accommodate your schedule, if at all possible.
