***Winter Percussion Roland Ellingsen Winter Percussion has kicked off this week with sign ups and the first practice sessions. This will be a great season filled our kids learning to work as a team and the chance for us to support them in their goal of performance perfection. If this is your first year of having a child in the program, please be aware that the program encourages (as much as possible) 100% parent participation. This includes helping w/ transport, road warrior fun, performance watching, water/food help and just hanging out w/ our kids on show days.
This Friday the kids will be going to Winter Percussion Camp at Lake San Antonio. The ranch (use has been donated) sleeps 22 and is generally used for corporate retreats and large family reunions. The phone at the main house is 805-472-2806. http://www.vrbo.com/91594 Note- Kids are welcome to use the house phone as some cell phones have limited reception. We have 8 parents participating as drivers, cooks, kid watchers and road warriors, w/ all staff on hand as well. Due to renovations at the Amador Theater, our winter concert (all concert bands and Jazz B) is being held in the beautiful new Bankhead Theater in downtown Livermore. All students are asked to report at 5:30 pm in concert dress (check with your student regarding specifics for their group). Percussionists and tuba players are to help load their equipment at Amador at 4:30 p.m.
About tickets - NEW! A ticket must be purchased for each and every person attending (child, infant, student, senior citizen, etc) This is the policy of the Bankhead Theater. Tickets will be $11.00 at the door the night of the concert. AFM has graciously offered to provide discounted tickets for the price of $5.00 available pre-sale through Mr. Grantham. The cost of the tickets is only to cover the expense of theater rental and is not intended to be a fund raiser for AFM.
Given the short turn around time for the tickets, please follow these steps to reserve your $5.00 tickets in advance: (remember ALL attendees must have a ticket and tickets at the door will be $11.00 NO EXCEPTIONS)
1. E-mail Mr. Grantham by Friday the number of tickets you would like reserved (jgrantham@pleasanton.k12.ca.us) 2. Send in $5.00/ticket with your student (checks made payable to AFM) by Monday 3. Your tickets will be sent home in an envelope with your student

Want some great photos for your holiday greetings? Check out the wonderful band photos on our website. John Harcourt has organized hundreds of photos into web albums. You can enjoy them online, download them or order prints. Just don't forget to take a look. Some of your favorite band and colorguard members are out there waiting to be discovered! Many thanks to John Harcourt and his daughter, Claire, for taking these wonderful pictures.
To access the 2007 photos: Click on one of two links above the Aurora Borealis picture. If the links are not visible, click on the "home" button at the top of the page (even if you are already there) and the links will magically appear! The "pictures" button at the bottom of the column of directional links sends you to last year's pictures on Snapjot.
Additional thanks to John Harcourt, Ann Fischer and Lori Sheppard, who photographed our seniors at BOA so we could prepare a photo gift for the Senior Dinner. I know many other parents helped corral and pose the students - no easy task right after a performance. I am happy to see that ALL the seniors and Mr. G made the photo. Thanks to all! The resulting photo, which you have seen in the Pleasanton Times, our website and the PTSA newsletter, was a special effort by John Harcourt. He spent hours photo editing, printing and delivering the final photos. Thank you, John!
