3. AFM Board Member Reports:
a. President’s Report – Thom Kato: Thom reported that band student, John Palowich, wrote an article about the band, which has been sent out to several local sources…newspapers, radio, local TV, etc. Chris Smith, publicity chairperson, asks that if anyone sees or hears the article, to please contact either her or Mr. Grantham. (When an article is distributed, the recipient often does not contact us to say if or when the article will be used.)
Thom invites all parents to come and cheer on the students at the Pigskin Roast (Friday, October 7th) and all football games and competitions this year.
Thom also added that Linda Fellers has volunteered to be our band alumni liason.
b. VP of Fundraising – Angela Adkins: Angela reported that we will be selling dog tags with an Amador logo at the Pigskin Roast. They will sell for $3.00 a piece or 2 for $5.00. We need volunteers to help out at the Pigskin. Set up will be at 4:00 and sales will be from 5:00 – 7:30. If anyone can help out, please contact Angela at angelasint@aol.com or 426-7715.
c. VP of Transportation – Roland Ellingsen: Roland needs volunteers, who can weld, to help fix music stands that are badly in need of repair. If you are able to help, please contact Roland at rellingsen@thehackettgroup.com or call 895-1041.
For the Championships hotel in Long Beach, Roland has had 15 families sign up thus far. There are still 10 rooms available for families who are interested.
c. Treasurer – Paulette Callahan: Paulette is asking that if anyone needs to purchase something for the band and wants to be reimbursed, please use the “purchase approval form” on the band website < http://www.amadorband.org/download_forms.htm> . This should be filled out and approved by a band board member before the purchase is made. This will assure that there is budgeted money available for reimbursement. An expense voucher would then be filled out and turned in to Paulette for reimbursement.
