The wind ensemble has submitted a CD for 2006 CMEA All-State Convention. CMEA recap: Symphonic band Unanimous Superiors (first time ever!), Wind Ensemble 98, 97, 95 for superiors on concert stage and excellent in sight reading, Wind Symphony overall excellent with one superior in concert. All three groups were praised for fine musicianship and professionalism. The wind ensemble will be fitted in the fall for tuxedos and dresses-thank you to Laura Danielson and Emmie Stenstedt for volunteering to help with fitting and ordering!

· Marching band: Many dates for the 2005 season are already posted on-line. Band camp is August 15-19 at Amador. We are gearing up for section leader interviews as well as drum major try-outs in the coming weeks. Very pleased to announce in addition to the hiring of John Meehan as our new music writer and instructor we have hired Jay Murphy as our drill designer. All music for the fall is done (in its first draft) and will be handed out to the kids in the next two weeks.

President’s Report – Cindy Gehl:

Cindy presented the official slate for 2005/2006 : President-Thom Kato; VP Transportation-Roland Ellingsen; Secretary-Linda Ethier; VP Fundraising-Angela Adkins; Treasurer-Paulette Callahan.

A motion was made to accept and approve the slate of officers. The motion was seconded, voted upon and approved.

Fundraising Report – Angela Adkins

Angela reported that we cleared approximately $30,000 at the Magic of Music fundraiser. The date has been set for next year: April 8, 2006. This will be AFMs major fundraiser and all band families are expected to participate. The only other fundraiser we will keep is the Bowl-A-Thon, which is not intended so much as a fundraiser, but more of a social evening for the students. It was agreed that having it last year the weekend before Championships was a good idea. Angela is looking for someone to help her coordinate that effort.

AFM 2005-2006 Fall Budget:

Cindy presented the proposed Fall budget. Cindy, Thom Kato, Jon Grantham, Paulette Callahan, and Bert Still worked on the initial budget. It was presented to and approved by the AFM Board on Monday, May 16, 2005. The highlights are as follows:

· Income: $156, 415 for things such as Sales, Donations, Participation Fees, etc.
· Expenses: $165, 228 for things such as Competition Fees, Instructors, Transportation (Championships are in Long Beach), Judges Fees, etc.

After some discussion and clarification, a motion was made to accept and approve the Fall budget. The motion was seconded, voted upon, and approved.
