President’s Report - Cindy Gehl
Cindy talked about how well the London trip went, how much the students enjoyed themselves and that the only real complain was about the food one day.

Cindy said it is time to start thinking about nominations for the 2005/2006 AFM Board. The nominating committee, which needs to consist of at least 3 people, will be elected at next months meeting.

Cindy reminded everyone that even though marching season is over, there’s still much to do. She urged everyone to stay involved and stay active.

Cindy also reminded everyone who has not done so, to get their Winter/Spring fees paid.

Treasurer’s Report – Bert Still
Bert said that he has a need for one or more assistant treasurers. There is a lot more work involved this year with the IRS due to the income from the London trip and he needs assistance. In addition, it would be good to start training someone now that might be able to take over next year.

Bert explained that we did not take in any money in December, but spent approximately $19,500. He urged everyone to pay their Winter/Spring fees as there is only a $4,500 carryover for Spring and we are relying on the fees to keep the program afloat.

Fundraising Report –Angela Adkins
Ginelle Dowdy and Angela talked about the upcoming Winterguard show. Ginelle has a volunteer sign up sheet and asked for volunteers. She needs a few men to help coordinate the parking lot. She asked for paper for copying and copying services, and the Asbury’s said they would take care of all of it for her. She also suggested that someone could buy a trophy and it could be given in their name. If you can help, please contact Ginelle. She also reminded everyone that the proceeds go to the General Fund.

Plans for the Spring Fundraiser on April 9 are progressing. Angela has 6 committees in place and 4 chairs. She has scheduled a parent meeting for Jan 26 at 7:00.
She reported that the band now has permission to play at the event and is hoping to have students playing in the lobby, during dinner, and for dancing. She asked if anyone knows a local celebrity that might want to MC part of the event.

Other:
Jeannette Ford talked about the Winter Percussion show this year and reminded all parents that there is a mandatory meeting on Monday at 8:00PM in the teachers lounge. She also thanked Kim Portman for all her help.
