| Student Accounts Information about student accounts 1. How Can I Get a Copy of My Student Account? 2. What is a Student Account? 3. What fundraising opportunities are available? How Can I Get a Copy of My Student Account? If you would like to see a copy of your student account, please request it from Jill Albers Updated: October 8, 2007 What is a Student Account? This is an accounting of all fees and funds earned on behalf of a student. Funds earned from certain fundraisers may be used to offset fees, travel costs and any others expenses associated with participation in the music program. These funds can greatly reduce out-of-pocket expenses for participating in performing music groups.
All funds credited to student accounts are the property of AFM and revert to the AFM General Fund when the student graduates or otherwise leaves the program. If a family has more than one student in the program, a single account is maintained on behalf of the family, allowing any of the siblings to utilize the funds.
To sign up for a student account contact Jill Albers . Updated: October 8, 2007 What fundraising opportunities are available? There are a variety of fundraising opportunities for a family to reduce the cost of students participating in the various performing groups.
There are several easy ways to add funds to your student’s account.
- Scrip is vouchers that can be spent like cash at participating local and nationwide merchants. AFM purchases the vouchers at a discount. Participating families purchase them at face value. The difference (usually 3% to 15%, depending on the merchant) is retained as profit, split between AFM (25%) and the student's individual account (75%). Downloadable Forms.
- EScrip is accumulated by registering a credit card and/or Safeway discount card with the eScrip service center and specifying Amador Friends of Music as the beneficiary of merchant contributions. Every purchase from a participating merchant gains a percentage contribution from that merchant to AFM. Contributions are split 25%/75% as with Scrip vouchers. See eScrip.
- Raley’s/Nob Hill grocery stores also administer a similar card program. You can obtain a card by contacting Leslie Finn . If you already have a card, please contact Leslie to change your designation to AFM.
- Clorox Consumer Testing in Pleasanton has opportunities to participate in a variety of programs. You can sign up by calling 925-425-6116 or email Consumerpool@Clorox.com. Once you have signed up, Clorox will periodically contact you to take part in evaluations. For each 30 minute evaluation, Clorox will donate a minimum of $25 to AFM.
If any friends or family members are interested in contributing to a student’s account, please contact Jill Albers to provide their name and the name of the student.
Each family is also asked to earn a specified amount for their student's individual account through fundraising activities or to pay that amount in lieu of participating in student account fundraisers.
Fundraisers that directly benefit individual student accounts include: scrip, eScrip, Raley’s/Nob Hill card, Clorox testing, Sleep Train Pavilion concessions, downtown Pleasanton events, Scottish Games, and various other activities throughout the year. Both parents and students can participate in fundraising activities, but some activities have a minimum age requirement.
